Training
Yes, all our training groups are open to participants of all genders. We strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
Generally, no special preparation is required. If anything specific is needed, you’ll receive information via email.
No, unfortunately, both the training card sessions and our small group sessions are personal and non-transferable.
The training card schedules are available here. Please note that we reserve the right to make minor adjustments to the schedule if needed.
Absolutely! Just check out our schedule, then email [email protected] with the specific sport, day, and time you’d like to try. If there are available spots, we’ll be happy to add you to the session.
At SSIF, some of our most popular sports and group fitness classes are divided into different difficulty levels, ensuring everyone can train at their own pace and develop – whether they’re beginners or advanced athletes. As a training card holder, you automatically have access to the beginner level of our level-divided classes and cannot book higher-level sessions by default. Progressing to a higher level is managed by our skilled instructors, who are on-site to support your development and assess your readiness. If you’re interested in advancing to a higher level in a specific sport, read more here.
Our ALL IN and STUDIO training cards are available in three options: term-based, monthly, and summer edition.
Term training cards follow the university semesters.
Monthly training cards are available year-round.
Summer training cards are offered from June to August, often in weekly, monthly, or full-summer editions.
We offer training sessions at various levels, from beginner to advanced, in selected sports such as Gymnastics, Volleyball, and Badminton. For sports and group fitness classes that are not divided by skill level, everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. These sessions are designed to accommodate all participants, offering different options and ensuring a balanced and inclusive experience for everyone.
During the spring and autumn terms, our term and monthly training cards are always available here. Our summer training cards are typically released in May and can also be accessed through the same link when available.
Registration for Small Group Courses opens on our booking website about a month before the courses begin. When bookings are live, we typically announce it via our newsletter or on our Instagram @ssif.nu.
To secure a spot in the training session you’re interested in, make sure to sign up as soon as booking opens each week, which is exactly one week before the session. To ensure as many participants as possible can join, we’re added additional sessions across many of our sports. With approximately 100 classes each week, offering around 2,500 spots in total, we aim to provide ample opportunities for everyone to secure a place.
With a training card, you can register for the sessions you wish to attend on an ongoing basis. A maximum of 6 active bookings is allowed at the same time, with a limit of 2 sessions per day.
We believe these sports are best suited for smaller groups, where an experienced instructor can provide both individual and group feedback. This level of personalized attention would be challenging to offer within the ALL IN training sessions, which typically accommodates 15-30 participants per session. As a result, we've chosen to offer these sports as separate small group courses rather than including them in the ALL IN concept.
Equipment
We recommend wearing comfortable training clothes that allow for easy movement. Please remember to wear shoes suitable for indoor use, that is, without black soles.
There is a yoga mat to use on site. If you have your own yoga mat that you prefer, you can of course use it.
There are rackets and clubs to borrow for all these sports. If you have a racket/club at home that you prefer, you are of course welcome to bring it instead.
We provide equipment for all participants to use, but if you have your own gear that you prefer, you’re more than welcome to bring it along.
Generally, SSIF provides equipment that you can borrow on-site, including yoga mats, weights, rackets, shuttles, and boxing gloves. For specific small group courses like swimming and cross-country skiing, there are certain items you’ll need to bring yourself. This information is listed under “Courses” and for each specific course in the top menu.
Membership
We don’t have an upper age limit, but there is a minimum age requirement of 18 years.
Yes, we welcome everyone, whether you’re a student or not, as long as you’re at least 18 years old.
